Role & responsibilities

Operates assigned machine shop tools including mill, lathe, horizontal & vertical saws, grinders & drill pressesSets-up lathes by installing & adjusting three & four Jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collects, bushings, cams, gears, stops.Load/Unload Parts from Machine:Handling the loading and unloading of workpieces onto/from the lathe machine.Ensuring that parts are securely positioned and properly aligned for machining.Working from Detailed Blueprints:Reading and interpreting detailed blueprints to understand the specifications and dimensions of the required machined parts.Translating the information from blueprints into the setup and machining processes.Set Up Lathe Machines:Preparing the lathe machine for specific machining operations.Installing and adjusting tooling, chucks, and other necessary components according to the blueprint specifications.Control and Adjust Machine Settings:Operating the lathe machine by controlling and adjusting settings to achieve precise dimensions and finishes on machined parts.Monitoring the machining process and making adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.Physical Strength:Demonstrating physical strength to handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Safely maneuvering and positioning materials and tools as required in the machining process.
